When building applications I often found myself stuck in a certain frustration when it comes to making other developers understand how important it is to know what your application is doing. In order to have happy users it is key to act proactively in case of issues - and not waiting until users complain in angry emails or even worse: on online rating platforms. In this lightning talk I want to give examples and impulses why you, as a person working with application code all day long, should care about observability, as well. This is no blaming, but rather a motivational speech for commitment and taking care of the work you already do very well.
